ESF Sports Cubs

2-4 years

Our Sports Cubs programme provides a fun and active way for very young children, aged between 2 and 4 years old, to develop gross motor skills and correct techniques to ensure a strong start to their engagement in sports. Running, kicking, catching and throwing will energise children. Gymnastics and movement, tag and team building activities additionally help children to develop friendships and a love of sport.

The ESF Sports Cubs programme gives children an opportunity to develop their confidence through interactive physical activities. When young students are introduced to the fundamental competencies of sport, such as using correct jumping technique and improving running form, their performance is improved as they become more coordinated, balanced and well-rounded athletes enabling them to become more focused and giving them the confidence to interact socially with their peers.

We believe that all children, regardless of their athletic abilities can develop a positive attitude toward physical activity.

Parents/Guardians of children under the age of 6 years MUST REMAIN on site for the duration of each class.

ESF Sports Cubs provides sport specific development in many areas including:

  • Learning the basics of kicking a football or a rugby ball
  • Enhancing the ability to bounce a basketball
  • Developing proper technique in throwing and striking a baseball
  • Introducing the fundamentals of different catching techniques
  • Fostering the importance to react and adapt in an individual/team game situation
