Circle Time Creations

Ages 2.5 – 4 years

Spring into life and join us for an exciting week of fun and adventure as we explore a variety of super stories. This course uses drama, games, storybooks, art to develop language skills with a particular focus on building confidence and communicating in English.

In Spring Sensation students will:

- Explore stories from well-loved early years authors such as Jez Alborough and Eric Carle
- Use role-play to explore topics and bring characters to life
- Unleash imagination and creativity through art and discovery
- Be immersed in a rich, English speaking environment to build their understanding and enjoyment of the language

Raring to Read

Levels:
Kindergarten (4-5 years) 0930-1030
Lower Primary (6-8 years) 0930-1100
Upper Primary (9-11 years) 0930-1100
Spanish (primary aged beginners) 0930-1130

Curriculum is different every week.

Each of the courses has been written by our senior education team, ensuring age and level-appropriate language objectives and literary targets are addressed every lesson. Regardless of age, by the end of the course, all students will have addressed and participated in the following:

· Listen, read and respond to stories read by the teacher
· Develop reading strategies to aid understanding
· Demonstrate understanding of plot, setting and character
· Discuss and share own ideas and opinions
· Make connections to other literature and personal experiences
· Expand knowledge of different countries and cities

Challenge Your Creativity

Ages 9-11 Years

1.5 hour sessions, 5 sessions

Is your child feeling Zoom fatigue? Do they need something to boost their enthusiasm for learning during the holiday? Then join our lively online classes where we will ignite creativity through fun discussions, games and collaborative storytelling.

Students will:
- Develop creative thinking skills
- Motivate students and increase learning engagement
- Help students see everyday objects and concepts in new and deeper ways
- Improve language skills, foster imagination and curiosity
- Encourage creative writing and development of ideas
- Increase risk-taking skills

Make News Make Sense

Ages 11+ Years

3 sessions x 1 hour

Students will hone their 21st-century skills as they delve into the news. Through text analysis, debate and discussion students will review media articles and make sense of the world around us.

Students will:
- Develop 21st-century skills: Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication
- Identify language and literary devices in the media
- Respond to articles and formulate an argument
- Write a letter to the editor

Upper Primary Debate

Ages 9-11 Years

Debates are fun and engaging activities that exercise the brain to use all four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, sometimes concurrently.

This course is suitable for students who are new to debating and those who have already developed a taste for debating in their primary schools. It can also prepare them for a variety of opportunities that they will come across in their secondary schools.

Secondary Debate

Ages 11-13 Years

Join us for some lively discussions this Spring in our Secondary Debate programme. Globally, elections have evolved and politicians have changed their communication tactics. What styles would students take to convey their opinion? Would it be more like Trump or Biden?

Throughout the sessions, students will have plenty of opportunities to discuss and debate a range of topics.

Essential Travel Japanese

Ages 10+ Years

Block 1: Week 2 & 3: 21/3, 23/3, 25/3, 28/3 30/3,1/4 (6 lessons)
Block 2: Week 4, 5 & 6*: 4/4, 6/4, 8/4, 11/4, 13/4, 20/4 (6 lessons)

*For Week 4 & 5, a 5-day option is also available (4/4, 6/4, 8/4, 11/4, 13/4, 5 lessons)

Students can either join 1 block or all 2 blocks. Materials are not repeated.

We are delighted to offer a brand new Japanese programme in partnership with Shin Japanese Learning Center. Suitable for beginners, these sessions will provide a fun foundation to the language. Through a variety of activities including games and role play, students will be introduced to:

- Alphabet (Hiragana & Katakana)
- Greetings
- Simple conversations and travel phrases
- Japanese culture and customs

All teachers studied in Japan and hold a JLPT Level 1 qualification (Japanese Language Proficiency Test, top-level). The course supervisor is a native Japanese teacher who previously worked in primary schools in Japan.

Quarantine Pack

While most might be staying put this year, some will brave the journey to see family and friends - and no doubt the thought of keeping the kids entertained while cooped up indoors during the quarantine time might seem a little daunting.

But have no fear, ESF Quarantine Pack is here to the rescue!

Our pack is a collection of multidisciplinary activities all in one kit, made with love by teachers/educators/parents.

It has been tested by children and also well thought out by educators who have children in the target age range

Little Learner Pack

Are your children getting bored at home and missing the fun activities they engage with at playgroup? We are missing you too which is why are excited to start bringing playgroup to you in the comfort of your own home.

Themes:
March 7th: Pack 1: Theme: How things move: Planes, Trains and automobiles
April 4th: Pack 2: Theme: How things grow: The flowers bloom

Optional Circle Time on Zoom every Wednesday (9:00-9:20am): Gross Motor activity, Songs and Stories

Materials and instructions on how to could use them would be all included within the pack for some DIY fun!

Dance Fun (3-4 years)

Ages 3-4 years

3 days (M,W,F) or 5 days (M-F) 1 hour, weeks 2-6

An introductory course to get budding young dancers up and moving. With movements designed for small spaces, develop coordination, rhythm, musicality, style and expression, while most importantly, having fun! There will be a filmed course overview at the end of the course.

- Moves with Moana (Week 4)

Hooray for Hip Hop (Week 6)

Dance Stars (4-6 years)

Ages 4-6 years

An introductory course to get budding young dancers up and moving. With movements designed for small spaces, develop coordination, rhythm, musicality, style and expression, while most importantly, having fun! There will be a filmed course overview at the end of the course.

Dance Loop (6-8 years)

A fun and energetic course incorporating challenging movements to build coordination, style and confidence. With movements designed for small spaces, work on a piece of choreography and explore the possibilities of online performance. There will be a filmed course overview at the end of the course.

Dance Circle (8-12 years)

Ages 8-12 years

A challenging and energetic course, incorporating warm-up activities, technique development and choreography to build coordination, style and confidence. With movements designed for small spaces, work on both teacher and student-led choreography and explore the possibilities of online performance. There will be a filmed course overview at the end of the course.

Ages 4-6 years

Introducing speech, presentation, expression and articulation, students will study an engaging theme and become the characters of the story. There will be a filmed online performance at the end of the course.

Ages 6-8 years

An energetic and engaging course for budding young performers looking to learn new skills or further develop their performance techniques, led by experienced professional drama practitioners. There will be a filmed online performance at the end of the course.

Drama Glee Stage

Drama Circle

Ages 8-12 years

A challenging, engaging course for young performers looking to learn new skills or further refine their performance techniques, led by experienced professional drama practitioners. There will be a filmed online performance at the end of the course.

- Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Week 3)

Make an Audio Play

Ages 6-8 years and 8-12 years
Week 4

Monday to Friday only (1.5 hour for 6-8 yrs, 2 hours for 8-12 yrs)

Using only the magic of sound, create an audio play as a group using a script, characterisation and sound effects, providing a unique opportunity to focus on students’ speech and use of voice. There will be a recorded audio performance at the end of the course.

Create a Podcast

Ages 8-12 years
Week 5

Monday to Friday only, 2 hours

Combining presentation skills, critical thinking and teamwork, students will devise and present their own podcast, exploring topics, content and presentation styles. There will be a recorded podcast at the end of the course.

Drama and Story Building

Ages 6-8 years

3 days (M,W,F) or 5 days (M-F) 1.5 hour - Weeks 5-6

Combining drama and presentation skills alongside storytelling activities, students will explore and create their own characters and stories. There will be a filmed course overview at the end of the course.

- Heroes and Villains (Week 5)
- Cats vs Dogs (Week 6)

Devised Drama

Ages 8-12 years

3 days (M,W,F) or 5 days (M-F) 2 hours, Week 6

In Devised Drama, the students are in control of the performance, building the characters, plot, script and sound elements. A great opportunity to deeply explore creativity, teamwork and the possibilities of digital performance, this is a challenging course for budding theatremakers. There will be a filmed course overview at the end of the course.

Coding

Ages 6+ Years

We are offering a total of 11 different coding classes this Spring! From beginners to advanced coders, our Coding programmes are a fantastic way for your child to expand their knowledge and interest in coding, robotics, AI and more!
