I can speak 5 languages and I'm always trying to learn more!
5. What are your hobbies?

I enjoy reading, hiking and making jewellery.

6. Do you have any unusual talents?

I haven't told many people this but I can play the bagpipes!

7. Why do you enjoy teaching at ESF Language & Learning?

I love the idea of learning through play. Children have enough pressure in their lives and sometimes its fun to build a space where both the children and I can just be messy, have fun and learn in the moment! This year has been especially great because I have watched some of my students go from playgroup to kindergarten and I feel truly lucky to be part of their learning journey!

8. Share a funny story that has happened in your classroom.

I caught up with a student who had previously attended playgroup and is currently in K1. I was very excited to see him! I kneeled down to say hello to him and he says "Sorry for stepping on your phone Miss Kristen!". I was so confused and his mom told me that he was apologising for an incident that happened over a year ago that I has completely forgotten about! Kids have amazing memories. Adults? Not always.

9. Anything that you would like to share with us?

I love working with children so much. There's absolutely nothing else in the world I'd rather do!
