The ESF Multi-Sports Junior Development Programme (JDP) is designed for children between the ages of 6 and 11+ years. The JDP focuses on development of motor skills, technique and infuses that with components of speed and agility that will ensure a strong foundation for engagement with sport for years to come.
The JDP is for children who have not been actively involved within sports up until this point or who have not found the correct pace and learning pathway with guidance and assistance to really develop their natural abilities. Our JDP classes also give children access to fun and engaging physical activities without any pressure or demands related to sporting abilities.
The JDP has been designed to improve the self-confidence and self-awareness of the older student by assisting them to develop their abilities using a broader range of fun and inclusive games and techniques. All students will be able to progress at their own pace to perform activities in a peer-to-peer or individual setting. Students will develop cognitive, physical, social and emotional skills based around a foundation of inclusion in an environment that welcomes and encourages them to explore their ability to perform without judgement.
It is recommended that students undertake the programme at least once or twice a week over a regular period to see real benefit with supportive information provided to parents/guardians on what they are experiencing including (amongst many things) advice on:
