Staff

Our teachers have been carefully selected to ensure the best education for our students. They are all degree qualified with early childhood education qualifications and/or experience. Coming from a range of backgrounds, the teachers that join our team all have a passion for education and are there to ensure that your child gets the most out of their learning experience with us.

Our educational assistants are also on hand to support the learning that takes place in class. Our EAs have years of hands on experience with children and know how to motivate the children in their care to ensure they stay on task! Our EAs all speak English and many also speak Cantonese and Mandarin.

Our Teachers

Fiona Maira McCormack - Centre Manager

Fiona has been teaching for over 16 years in Early Years. She began her career in her home city of Dublin, Ireland as a Montessori Teacher after university. This career brought her to Beijing, China where she worked in International schools for nearly ten years before moving to Hong Kong. She has a love for teaching children from all over the world and learning about different cultures from the families she gets to know. Fiona has a passion for creating a positive, fun environment for children to learn. She believes in working closely with each family to help children develop a love for learning in a peaceful multi-cultural environment.

Catherine Ho - Language Centre Teacher

Catherine was educated in England and holds a degree in Psychology.  She devoted all her time in Education after graduated. She obtained Master in Psychology of Education and PGDE in Special Education. Catherine has worked for ESF since 2008 in different settings. She is fun and is passionate about teaching. Catherine provides a safe and caring environment for children to unlock their potential. Catherine understands that all children are different and they learn at different rates.  She supports individual children in their effort to learn and to develop in order to prepare the children for the next chapter of their life as they enter kindergarten.

Ania Gradkowska - Language Centre Teacher

Ania was educated in Poland and holds a degree in English Philology and teacher qualifications. She moved to the UK in 2007 and started teaching secondary, primary and nursery classes. She moved to Hong Kong in 2015 and taught English as well as working with children in various outdoor settings. She joined ESF in 2017, and is not focused on helping children learn through play and explore the world around them through their senses. She believes that child-led and creative play are the most beneficial to children. She loves helping children make their first steps in their learning journey and discovering new things for themselves.  

Moon Liu - Language Centre Teacher - Mandarin

Moon has been teaching Mandarin for over 7 years. She received her Master in Teaching Chinese as an International Language from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Master in Social Science from City University of Hong Kong. She also received a First Class certificate in National Putonghua Test (PSC). Prior to joining ESF, Moon has worked as a course director and a Mandarin teacher in various schools. She is also an examiner of Mandarin examinations. Moon is warm and caring for her students, and is patient and passionate about teaching Mandarin. She believes that every child is unique and will find the best way to support each of her individual students.
