TENNIS ESL ATA INTER SCHOOL TEAM TENNIS COMPETITION Date: Saturday 19th November 2011 Venue: South Island School, 50 Nam Fung Rd, Aberdeen Entry Fee: $200 Entry Deadline: 17th NOVEMBER 2011 The ATA coaching team are providing another chance for aspiring tennis aces to compete on court. This competition creates a fantastic opportunity for players to put the skills they have learnt through their tennis sessions to the test. Whether new to tennis or an experienced match player, there will a fun competition format ensuring everyone has an enjoyable and valuable tournament experience. Times:   1pm - 2.30pm 7&U HITTERS COMPETITION (Little / Big Hitters) 2.45-4.15pm 9&U SMASHERS COMPETITION (Smash Kings and Queens / Future Aces) 4.30pm - 6.30pm 11&U ACES COMPETITION (Future Aces / All Star Aces) Who can enter? The competition is open to tennis players of all levels. Whether new to tennis or a more experienced match player, come and represent your school, in a fun friendly team based competition. Even if you are NOT yet a participant in the ATA ESF tennis programme we would be delighted for you to come and compete – this competition is open to everyone. The competition will comprise ESL School Teams as well as other HK international school representation. There is also the possibility of mixed school teams (depending on entry). Players may enter as a team (4 people) or as an individual who will be placed into a team. Format: Players from their respective schools will be grouped according to standard (level 1,2,3). Players will win points contributing to their own individual player score as well as to their team score. 1pm: LITTLE HITTERS / BIG HITTERS (7&U): For younger tennis aces whether new to tennis or who have played for a while. Fun competitive opportunities will test players skills through swing, rally challenges and games. Playing in teams will expose players to fun and healthy competition with prizes for everyone participating, ensuring a positive experience is had by all! 2.45pm: SMASH KINGS & QUEENS (9&U): For slightly older tennis aces whether new to tennis or more experienced. Competitors will get grouped by a coach to either test their skills and compete through shot challenges and games, or for those of suitable standard through competitive rally, doubles point based matches. 4.30pm - 6.30pm FUTURE ACES & ALL STAR ACES (11&U): Players will be grouped according to standard. Competitors representing their team will play mostly doubles round robin, knock out matches, along with nomination singles challenges with point, game scoring, full or low compression balls depending on standard and age of entrant. This is a great chance for our aspiring tennis aces to put into action what they have been learning in practice. Certificates, trophies and prizes are up for grabs for individuals and teams. Snacks and refreshments included. We promise it will be a day to remember for the competitors and parents alike. Please Note: Players are expected to arrive 15mins before they are due to start, for registration and explanation of format. ATA reserves right to adjust timing and schedule based on numbers of entry. Players should bring: Tennis racket, drink, hat, sunscreen.
