Primary Specialist Courses
Writing Skills Ages 7 – 11
This course is designed to stimulate your child's imagination and creativity, whilst developing
their awareness of different styles of writing. Primary students have the opportunity to study
both fiction and non-fiction genres, extending their understanding of different structures
which will assist them in developing their written skills. Students will be equipped with the
necessary tools to complete a variety of different primary-level compositions with a focus on
technique and accuracy.
Interview Skills Ages 7 – 11
This popular course will prepare your child for the demands of interviews for school entry and
other purposes. Students will undergo six weeks of lessons followed by a simulated interview
with one-on-one feedback.
Debating Ages 10-11
The debating programme is designed for upper primary school students who have a good
foundation in English. This skills based course will equip students with the necessary tools to
excel in debating. Students will learn how to research, present and defend their arguments
through various fun and engaging activities. Each term, students will develop these skills
through exposure to a variety of themes.

We are delighted to offer English language tuition on a one-to-one basis for primary-aged
students looking for an individual learning experience. Our highly experienced teachers are
able to provide a suitably tailored programme to meet the needs of individuals.
For those wishing to take the Cambridge YLE exams, our ESF English programme provides the necessary skills to succeed. (see p.10 for further detail)
Secondary Specialist Courses
We offer a wide range of specialist courses for students with particular language needs. These courses are offered in intensive blocks throughout the year. The course content changes each term, so these courses are suitable for new students as well as those continuing to study throughout the academic year.
Academic Achievers Ages 14 +
This course is designed for students aged 14 +, who already have a strong grasp of English and are looking to enhance their level and confidence with the language. To participate in the course, students will be expected to understand the key ideas of specific texts, interact with a degree of fluency and be able to provide opinions on a range of topics.
This course compliments other subject studies by developing general skills such as the ability to
analyze, make inferences, assess facts and give feedback.
Debating Ages 12 – 16
This course will equip your child with the necessary skills for public speaking and introduce them to the principles of debating and its value as a powerful learning tool. The course will introduce students to the concepts and techniques of all forms of English-language debating, as well as providing them with the opportunity to compete in class. Students will engage in a broad range of activities which aim to enhance their presentation, critical thinking,
collaboration and information skills, whilst increasing their knowledge of world events and current affairs.

We also offer English language tuition on a one to one basis for secondary aged students. These lessons are designed to meet the individual learner’s needs and are taught by highly experienced teachers. Students come to us for a variety of different reasons from everyday language enhancement to exam preparation. Our one to one lessons give support to our students to meet the challenges they face academically and also boost their confidence with the language.
