Mandarin Chinese Courses
Our Mandarin Chinese curriculum is specifically designed to meet the needs and interests of our students. We immerse learners in Mandarin and use a topic-based approach, making learning both fun and effective. Upon joining the class, students receive a copy of Chinese for Children course book which is suitable to their level. Classes are a combination of various age-appropriate language activities, such as story reading, songs and rhymes, role play, character writing, arts & crafts and games, depending on language competence. Our programme is designed to support students who are studying Mandarin with us alone, as well as students completing the ESF Chinese Curriculum.
Levels
This academic year, for Mandarin we will be offering a variety of levels. The levels reflect the different abilities of our students and are designed to meet the needs of both native speakers of Cantonese and also those new to Chinese.
Level Assessment
To join our programme all students are required to take an entrance assessment test. The assessment will ensure that your child is placed in the right class at the appropriate level.
After sending in your child's application, we will send out the assessment which needs to be completed by your child and returned to us to ensure that they are placed in the right level.
We will then be in touch to let you know what level your child should take and the locations that are available.
