Primary Programmes
We offer a structured year round general English course designed to develop your child's English language proficiency in all skills as well as specialist courses to help with key skills.
Our New General English Primary programme!
Our Primary programme meets the learning needs of Hong Kong students and helps prepare them to take the Cambridge Young Learner tests. Each term, students enjoy a different theme selected as common to both the IB curriculum and core Cambridge Young Learner examination topics.
Within each theme we have integrated age-appropriate literature to provide a variety of fiction and non-fiction genres. Not only does this stimulate the learners and encourage their language development, it also helps to instill the love of reading.
In conjunction with these fantastic books, students work through a structured curriculum based on a coursebook to enhance their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Within these core areas, students will develop their vocabulary, grammar and general comprehension through a variety of fun activities (e.g. games, drama, projects, creative writing). Each term learners build upon their existing knowledge to allow smooth progression between the language levels.

These books aid development of reading and writing and help to extend vocabulary and structures. They are full of engaging information which develops language skills and increases knowledge of numerous themes. Each student will receive their own course book and this will be used throughout the academic year.
In the first lesson, the teacher will assess each student's English language proficiency. Where possible we will suggest class movement within time slots and locations to group students according to language proficiency. This is to ensure our courses are as relevant to the language learning needs of your child as possible.
Primary Specialist Courses
Interview Skills Ages 7 - 11
This popular course will prepare your child for the demands of interviews for school entry and other purposes. Students will undergo six weeks of lessons followed by a simulated interview with one-on-one feedback.
Debating Ages 10 - 11
The debating programme is designed for upper primary school students who have a good foundation in English. This skills based course will equip students with the necessary tools to excel in debating. Students will learn how to research, present and defend their arguments through various fun and engaging activities. Each term, students will develop these skills through exposure to a variety of themes.
Writing Skills Ages 7 - 11
This course is designed to stimulate your child's imagination and creativity, whilst developing their awareness of different styles of writing. Primary students have the opportunity to study both fiction and non-fiction genres, extending their understanding of different structures which will assist them in developing their written skills. Students will be equipped with the necessary tools to complete a variety of different primary-level compositions with a focus on technique and accuracy.
