Parent Workshops
There are lots of things we can do to support our child’s English at home, but as we all know it is finding the time to do it in our busy lives.
With this in mind, ESF ESL recently held two workshops offering practical advice and tips for parents on the topics on The Importance of Play and Fostering a Passion for Reading.
The importance of play
Play is a vital part of a child’s learning journey and it is almost impossible to deny the importance of its role in education. Play is a natural activity for children and also supports language development. With this in mind we have put together a workshop designed to give you some more ideas on how you can incorporate play with learning English. The focus is on early years and primary development.
Fostering a passion for reading
Books open another world for children, so different from their everyday lives. The range of worlds encountered through books are not only captivating, they also help to develop a child’s vocabulary whilst contextualizing new language structures. Stories can be read to maximize your child’s interest and development in the language.
We have updated our website with all the information and handouts for you to browse at your leisure. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at language@esf.org.hk
