Shalini Gupta

2. What level of class do you teach?

The Saturday Upper Primary class at ESF Kowloon Junior School.

3. Tell us an unusual fact about yourself?

I can bend my little pinkie finger all the way back and touch the back of my palm.

4. What are your hobbies?

I love to bake cupcakes for all my students and I'm working on my sketching skills.

5. Do you have any unusual talents?

I can smell any dish and tell you exactly which spices were used and in what quantity.

6. Why do you enjoy teaching at ESF Language & Learning?

Students at ESF language and learning are humble, polite, and self-motivated. The colleagues and the senior teacher’s team are friendly and helpful and always ready to support and guide all staff members.

7. Share a funny story that has happened in your classroom.

Once I got mixed up between the meaning of ‘lap sap’ and food while I was across the border in China. I shared this story with my upper primary students. They went crazy laughing that how could I mix up two completely different words. After that, it became a joke in our class and each time I would say, ‘It’s your snack time.’ They all would go, ‘Lap Sap time!’
