Award winning author K.T. Durham will be teaching students about creative writing. Kathryn has been working as a Speech and Language Therapist since 2005. She holds a Master's degree in Speech Pathology Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (Honours) with a minor in Linguistics from the University of Queensland.
Kathryn has always loved books and writing, and in 2009 she completed a creative writing course through the University of Oxford. Having spent parts of her childhood and adolescence shuttling between Australia and Hong Kong, her unique outlook on life as a third-culture individual has inspired many aspects of her two fantasy novels in the series she has created, The Ellanor Chronicles. ‘Ellanor and the Search for Organoth Blue Amber’ (2014) was an award-winning Finalist at the USA Best Book Awards 2015 and the International Book Awards 2015. Its sequel, ‘Ellanor and the Curse on the Nine-Tailed Fox’, was published in 2015.
As a working mum, she finds time in her busy schedule to work on her next book. Kathryn loves teaching students the craft of creative writing and hopes that her books can inspire them to write and pursue their dreams.
